1984........

So here I am. I guess I have to do this journal thing. This is going to be quite hard for me to stay on the topic of the book...*sigh* but oh well...here I go!
Ok, so this novel, 1984 isn't horrible, but it's not my favorite book in the world, I admit. uhh it takes me forever to read. But anyways, as far as the story goes, it makes you, well me, think. I just really hope and pray that our world never gets as corrupt as the world in 1984. I mean, what we read last night about marriage. Now, it's supposed to be about love and friendship but in the 1984 world, it's basically just to produce children. No emotional connection is needed, rather that is discouraged.
This book is pretty sad. I cannot imagine...(well ok maybe I can, I just don't want to a) world without friendship or trust. The main character, Winston basically only has himself. He knows his society is wrong and that the Party is horrible, but be can't go to anyone or tell anyone. He, as well as everyone else, is always watched, always accounted for. I know I would not like that at all. Winston says that even going for a walk by yourself is not the best thing to do. I like to have some time to myself, but in this book, there is none. You get up, have to exercise, go to work...that's about it, as far as I can tell.
Well I dont't really know what else to say, except that this book is...interesting. I hope it starts to get an actual plot-the last few nights, one hasn't really been present.
Until next time,
*****Maria*****

Maria and I had about the same point to our entry. It is sad that what we take for granted is gone there. Like marradge, love, emotions and even personal thoughts.
